Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, popularly known as Beyoncé, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, producer and entrepreneur. Born on September 4th, 1981 in Houston Texas, she began her musical career in the early 1990s with the group Destiny’s Child before branching out on a solo career that has made her one of the most iconic performers of our time.

Career

Beyoncé’s music career started when she was just eight years old when she auditioned for a girl-group called Girl Tyme which later became Destiny’s Child. The group released their first album in 1997 titled “Destiny’s Child,” which contained hit singles such as “No No No” and “With Me.” The group went on to release five more studio albums including “The Writing’s On The Wall” (1999), “Survivor” (2001), and “Destiny Fulfilled” (2004).

In 2003 Beyoncé released her first solo single titled “Crazy In Love”. This song became one of the biggest hits of all time and established her status as a pop icon. Her debut album titled “Dangerously In Love” was released shortly after which included other smash hits like “Baby Boy” featuring Sean Paul, “Naughty Girl,” and “Me Myself And I.”

Since then Beyonce has released six more studio albums including B’Day (2006), I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), 4 (2011), Beyoncé(2013) Lemonade(2016)and Homecoming: The Live Album(2019). She is also known for collaborating with artists such as Jay-Z , Shakira , Nicki Minaj , Drake , Ed Sheeran among others.

Throughout her career Queen Bee has won numerous awards including twenty-eight MTV Video Music Awards, twenty-five Grammy Awards and seven BET Awards. She has also been named Billboard’s Woman of the Year three times, in 2009, 2011 and 2016.

Fashion

Aside from her music, Beyoncé is a style icon for many women around the world. Her fashion sense has been described as bold, daring and trend-setting. She has graced red carpets wearing some of the most stunning outfits ever seen such as her iconic yellow gown at the Met Gala in 2015. Beyoncé’s style is characterized by her love for statement jewelry pieces which she often pairs with simple yet elegant outfits.

She launched her own fashion line called House of Dereon alongside her mother Tina Knowles-Lawson in 2004 which was sold in several department stores including Selfridges , Bloomingdales among others . In addition to that , she released an activewear range called Ivy Park along with Topshop Boss Sir Philip Green.

Philanthropy

Beyoncé is also known for giving back to society through philanthropic work. In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana she started a charity organization called The Survivor Foundation which provided housing assistance for displaced families who had lost their homes during the storm.
