Born on August 4, 1981, Rachel Meghan Markle was raised in Los Angeles, California. She is a mixed-race woman with a Black mother and a white father who divorced when she was six years old. Her parents worked in the entertainment industry, which gave her an early introduction to the world of acting.
Markle attended Northwestern University where she graduated with a degree in theater and international studies. After college, she started her career as an actress playing small roles on television shows like “General Hospital” and “CSI: NY.” However, it wasn’t until she landed the role of paralegal Rachel Zane on the USA Network series “Suits” that her career took off.
Despite being successful in Hollywood, Markle had always been involved in humanitarian work. She served as an ambassador for World Vision Canada and traveled to Rwanda for their Clean Water Campaign. She also became a global ambassador for the charity One Young World where she spoke about gender equality at their annual summit held in Dublin.
In 2016, Prince Harry invited Meghan to join him at his Invictus Games event held in Toronto. The couple met through mutual friends; they were introduced by Misha Nonoo who is a fashion designer that both Harry and Meghan know well. From there on out began one of the most talked-about love stories of our time.
After months of rumors regarding their relationship status circulating around tabloids across Europe and North America alike – including everything from engagement predictions to break-up reports – Prince Harry finally confirmed he was seeing American actress Meghan Markle with one simple statement released via Kensington Palace’s Twitter account back on November 8th:

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were married on May 19, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The wedding was a grand ceremony attended by many high-profile guests from around the world including Oprah Winfrey and Serena Williams.
