Fluorescence refers to how a diamond reacts when exposed to ultraviolet light; some people prefer stones without strong fluorescence as they might appear hazy in certain lighting conditions. As for origin, knowing whether a lab-grown diamond was produced using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) methods can provide insight into its growth process.
